New book blog and web site launched!

The new web site for my upcoming book is now live. The book, tentatively titled ‘Building the SharePoint User Experience’, was announced about a week ago, and I promised to have the web site up in a few days. Here’s to me keeping my promise 🙂

Now, the web site is just launched so I am still working on filling it up with content. A great way for me to do that is through user feedback. If you have questions regarding the book, me, the writing, the content of the book, or anything else, don’t be shy, drop me a line! Mail address is still furuknap<[at]>

I try to respond in person to everyone, but if I happen to miss your call, please let me know and I will respond quickly.

Second thing, I have put up a mailing list on the new site to let you guys get a heads up when there are updates. I will hold periodic competitions to give out cool prizes to the people on the list. Some competitions will be generic but some will require knowledge about SharePoint.

Here’s the sweet deal: The first competition will be held early next week. Get your behinds over to the new site now if you want to participate.

Oh, did I forget to mention? You get to decide what the prize will be, including gift cards from Amazon, a 3-month platinum membership to Audible, a copy of the Age of Conan game by FunCom, and, of course, a signed copy of my book with your choice of (reasonable) signature text.

So, what are you waiting for? Get over to the site, sign up for the mailing list and vote!

I previously did SharePoint. These days, I try new things to see where I can find the passion. If you have great ideas, cool projects, or is in general an awesome person, get in touch and we might find out together.

  1. There are a few quirks you need to iron out.

First, there is no way to find a form to sign up for the mailinglist.

Neither is it possible to post comments, as there is a captcha-error when submitting (there is no captcha on the form).

I would personally also like a RSS-feed available, easily found on the page.

Tested with Firefox 3.0.3 on Win XP.

  2. Hm… Did you mean the comments thing for the vote? If so it is hosted by Polldaddy so I do not know why it would not show up.

Regarding the signup form, it appears in the right hand menu using FF 2.0017 on XP/2003. I’ll make another form and link to it from someplace, should be better that way 🙂

  3. No, I was thinking on the general comment-form on the post-pages.

The error-message after clicking submit is as follows:

Warning: MyCaptcha::include(php/crypt/) [mycaptcha.include]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /customers/ on line 60

    Warning: MyCaptcha::include() [function.include]: Failed opening ‘php/crypt/’ for inclusion (include_path=’.:’) in /customers/ on line 60

    Error: Wrong anti-spam word.

The sign-up form was there, but it is being blocked by AdBlock in Firefox. Turned off AdBlock, and it showed up without problems.
